    Let me clairify! With the key on and the engine not running... Back probe the TPS. It should have no dead spots. The TPS signal is one of many inputs controlling overdrive.:rolleyes:

    Sounds like the tps. Back probe and do the key on engine off test. Look for dead spots at the part throttle range.

    Look in a Pep boys help section. They sell a replacment for the idler bolt for 4.25. Box says late model Ford and Mopar idler pulley bolt.

    AXLE SHAFTS. There is no diff in shafts between H/D and the regular 1/2 ton shafts. The only real diff is the tube dia. on some and the knuckle and hubs/brakes. No width diff. that I know off. I am sure there are some exceptions. That is a damn good axle.

    Just a thought. Check for a short to body ground on EEC. power wire. Also check engine to body grounding straps, it will give those symptoms.

    Worth checking! I,ve heard that same noise from a cam bolt backing out or aftermarked cam bolt reatainers rubbing on the cover.
