Vehicle Speed Sensor Wire 1995 Explorer XLT

Location of the PCM unit is on the firewall at the top, near the windscreen. On RHD Explorers it's on the LHS...I think it's on the opposite side for LHD Explorers...clear as mud? I guess I could have just said passenger side for both configurations...

1995 XLT won't start when hot.

Hey mate, I've had this problem before (and continue to) on my 1998 SOHC. I live in Perth, Western Australia and our summer days here typically exceed 100 deg F. Sometimes after leaving the car in the sun after driving around, I'd come back and start her up - engine would turn over but would...

kiss my azz parking brake lever

I particularly enjoyed the 45 mins it took to figure out how to put those two pieces back together and into the assembly again... I liked how the 2nd side was done in 5 mins though...that math don't add up good...

    Post you DVD system pics

Mike, Over here in Australia, we imported the Suburban before the Explorer. When GMH converted the Sub, they left the column shifter where it was, but because the column is now on the RHS of the vehicle, the gear lever stuck out towards the open door, which meant it got in the way when...

    Australian 1998 XLT 3" BL on 33's

UPDATE: Installed the 4.56's and Detroit TruTrack. Driveability wise, haven't notice the Detroit - dry pavement, easy driving. Will see what happens when the gears have settled and I can hit it a bit harder. Should rain next week, so we'll see about that too. Gears - well, she cruises at...

    Australian 1998 XLT 3" BL on 33's

mounty71, The little door is the ash tray. After the ash tray is the auto shifter, after the shifter is the e-brake and 2xcupholders, after the cupholders is the centre console with rear seat audio controls (stock) and rear seat cupholders. The pic will show it all clearly...

    Australian 1998 XLT 3" BL on 33's

Yeah, all RHD's are like that. Cupholders are between the shifter and the centre storage compartment (which is shortened compared to yours). The e-brake handle is also in the centre console. Pics to come if you want.

    Australian 1998 XLT 3" BL on 33's

And again... Subenclosure that houses the 12" Infinity Kappa, Rockford Amp and Capacitor. It used to look slick, but after years of using the load space to haul anything and everything, it's become a bit hacked up... The rear view camera. Lit up at night. Dims when the lights are...

    Australian 1998 XLT 3" BL on 33's

More pics... The Yoko's. Haven't taken them offroad yet (just got them) but on road they are pretty noisy. Mostly at lower speeds. Cruising speeds they aren't that much different from my old BFG muds. The AVN 6000 (Aust only model) and the centre console shifter for the automatics we...

    Australian 1998 XLT 3" BL on 33's

Thanks guys. It's a nudge bar - pretty much so the mum's in the carpark with their own big SUV's don't scratch my pretty hood paint. When I first lifted it and put the tyres on, it looked absolutely MASSIVE! But now when I look at her, she seems normal - it looks stock to me. Maybe I...

One side park/tail lights not working

Hey guys, got a curly one here...tried searching but came up short. Vehicle is 1998 SOHC XLT RHD Australian Spec. Not sure if the lights I'm talking about are the same as the ones in the US. The design reglations may have required light wiring to be changed. Here's the deal...

    right turn signal buzzing!!!

Hey dude, I had this prob when my stereo got installed... This was about 10yrs ago, but IICR there was an issue with the steering column - crack it open and have a fiddle around with the junk that's under the cover...my tech ended up zip tying a few wires and maybe a control box of some...

Dana 35 - Reverse or std?

Hey dude, Yeah, I've been around...since I was last here though, I have found many other ways to waste my time and money... Wakeboard boat...kayak...mountain bike... But it seems, in the end, that I always end up spending the most time, effort and money on the old Exploder...

Dana 35 - Reverse or std?

Hi guys, Quick question - tried searching but couldn't find it. Getting new gears etc for 1998 XLT 4.0 SOHC and understand it has Ford 8.8 rear and Dana 35 front. Are the gears standard or reverse cut? I'm in Australia and importing the gears from the States, so I don't want to mess...

    performance module

Dude/Dudette, I'm assuming you're in Australia. I've had a Powerchip in my '98 XLT SOHC for the past 3 years and am very pleased with it. It was kinda pricey, but I wouldn't want to drive without it now. I had to take it out at one stage because there was a problem (sidenote...

    Supercharged 4.0L SOHC

Matey and any other Aust. Ex owners... you may find this interesting. I wrote to these guys last year to find out if this kit was for the OHV or the SOHC, but they never got back to me...maybe another Aussie could give them a call if they're more serious than I am. Can enyone tell from...

    Do you flush???

I'd like to change my blinker fluid. Will I feel the difference? Can I use synthetic or is it better to use regular blinker oil? I am always looking for ways to reduce my 1/4 mile times...maybe this upgrade will give me the power I need...
