I had the C Clip off. Looks fine but I dont know what it might have looked like new. When I had the axles out I put the C Clip on it and it was fine. Anything just outside the diff that might be messed up that the C clip pushes against?

I already cut the OEM harness. THere supposedly is no adapter that will go straight from the kenwood and plug into the OEM harness so I cut the OEM and I am currently trying to hard wire it to the kenwood harness

You can by pressing the 3 and 5 program buttons on the stock HU at the same time. It turns it on and off

my guess is that you can do what bamaboy said and if you have a headunit that will work with steering wheel controls you can simply wire it to that for the rear. Essentially there are the same controls just going to a different place

what is the best adapter to get to go from the back of a kenwood dpx-501 to the stock wiring harness when replacing the unit? Does this adapter shut the power down to the sub amp. If not what do I need to do

I just ordered the Kenwood dpx-501. We will see how it works out. Ended up being $222 of Ebay with shipping. About $50 more than I wanted to spend but whatever

I also really like the double din that the kenwood offers the clarion is expensive and too small for the openning. How important to sound is it for the HU to be 4v instead of 2.5v like the kenwood?

I just checked out the Kenwood dpx 701 and 501. Both seem awesome but the 701 is way way out ofmy price range. 501 seems ok maybe one price if I can get it for 240 or so. I am still running stock speaker and just the sub listed above
