    USB Plug not sending Data/Charging

Check your phone. My Android USB jack on the Samsung phone failed and will not work for charging or data. Fortunately I can charge on a wireless pad in the car or at home, but only transfer data via Bluetooth. Replacing the USB jack in the phone is not worth the expense.

    Floor, cargo mats / liners

Interesting, but in your reply the window in my quoted text still works to get to the Amazon link. I'm using Firefox, could that be the difference? =Vic=

    Floor, cargo mats / liners

Yes, mostly human here, with a few Cyborg parts added over time. I copied and pasted the URL and it did look odd when posted, but when I clicked on "Amazon Link" it worked. Still, that's why I just pasted the description in the following message. =Vic=

    Floor, cargo mats / liners

Tried to post the link and while it may be working, it looks odd. The ,mat I was referring to is the SMARTLINER All Weather Custom Cargo Liner Behind The 2nd Row Black Compatible with 2020-2023 Ford Explorer

    Floor, cargo mats / liners

I got this mat to cover the 3rd row to the tailgate and it is an exact fit and works very well. I also like the OEM rubber mats on the front 2 rows. I got Weathertech on my other car and was surprised that the fit isn't very good.

    2.3, Hybrid, or...

I did check last year to see if anything was due on the rear axle issue or camera and there were no outstanding recalls. Ours does not do the auto park brake thing (although I'd wouldn't mind that), so that software change was never done and the rear camera has always worked. We are on the...

    2.3, Hybrid, or...

We've had our 2021 XLT with the 2.3L, 292A and tow packages, and co-pilot assist for a couple of years now. Absolutely no issues and no recalls. It gets fantastic mileage on trips and pulls a 5K lb trailer easily. It runs quietly and shifts smoothly. The only things we've done under "warranty"...

    Should I buy 2021 XLT???

We got a 2021 about 18 months ago that had been on lease with about 13K miles. It has been perfect with no issues other than some broken trim we found that the dealer replaced for free (driver's side plastic panel under seat, knob on rear climate controls). It drives great, pulls a trailer...

    2020 ST Floor mats

The Ford-supplied rubber mats are outstanding and much better than the Weathertech mats in my other car

Trailer Brake Controller, have to 'flash' the vehicle?

If you have the Trailer Tow package, installing the brake controller is literally "plug and play" although reaching the socket under the dash to plug in to takes a bit of contortion. There are jumper cables for most controllers that connect between the brake controller and the designated socket..

    'shifter'

In the XLT for 21 and later I think the paddle shifters are only part of the trailer-tow package

    Engine Braking When in Tow/Hual

We sometimes pull a horse trailer (5K lbs max loaded) with our 21 XLT with tow package. The automatic engine braking was a pleasant surprise for me as it did exactly what I expected to need to do manually with the paddle shifters. I really suspect it is using the vehicle position sensors and...

Offroad / All terrain wheels and tires

Nice comparison, but I am not sure you can fit a 15" wheel over the brakes. Something to check, otherwise you can certainly got to an 18" wheel as it is standard on others like the Timberline. =Vic=

    Timberline or Hybrid

We have a trailer that is 5000 lbs loaded (sometimes a few hundred more in the past) that we used to tow with a 2008 Mountaineer with a 4.6L V8 and a tow package rated at 7000 lbs. We don't haul as often these days, so took a chance on a 2021 Explorer XLT with the 2.3L engine and tow package...

A Pillar Passenger Grab Handle options?

While there isn't an A-pillar handle, there is one over the door on ours and I assume the Timberline. Maybe not as obvious, but usable. My wife needs that and the running boards to be able to step up into the Explorer. The Gen 3 Explorers had the handle on the pillar...some didn't like it...so...

    Aftermarket oil gauge

The meter on the dash actually can be used. You need to replace the switch type sensor with a standard variable output sensor and make a resistor adjustment (I think short out a resistor) to the back of the instrument panel so full voltage doesn't read mid-scale at full voltage. This was a topic...

A Pillar Passenger Grab Handle options?

When we got our 2021 Explorer XLT the dealer was unaware of any running boards available since the Ford catalog didn't list anything. We got this from Amazon: and it fit perfectly and looks OEM.

    2nd row seats

We had an '08 Mountaineer and the 2nd row split bench did offer reclining (slightly), about the same as in an airliner.

Driver Lower Seat Panel - Outboard Side

That part was broken on our slightly used 2021 XLT, but the dealer replaced it from parts in stock under warranty. Maybe check with another dealer?

    Mystery Voltage Issue

I had an issue in my '97 Explorer where the wire from the starter solenoid to the starter motor was rubbing on a heat shield and shorted out. You might check that.

    Add Paddle Shifter to ST-Line?

We have a 2021 XLT with the trailer tow package, which included the manual shift option with paddle shifters. That option includes a lot more than just a hitch, really worth it.

Swapping the OEM radio to OEM navigation

Back when I bought it new, I swapped the OEM radio in my 2008 Mustang for the OEM Nav radio. The swap was mechanically easy...plug and play...only needing to mount a satellite antenna under the dash. However, the Nav radio needed to be programmed for the specific vehicle. We had a 2008...

Calling all MY2021 MY2022 Explorer ST, Platinum, King Ranch and Aviators: rear subframe poll

I still am not sure which Explorers need the updates. We have a 2021 XLT with the 2.3l twin turbo engine and it does not have the auto parking brake application mod and is not on the recall list.

    2022 Roof Rack Cross Bars

I got this set from Amazon because it didn't stick out over the rails: They have worked fine, although with the non-parallel roof rails on the Explorer it could be harder to adjust the spacing if I ever needed to do that. I notice no change in wind noise with these streamlined bars, either...

    Navigation questions

Explorers with built-in Nav like yours should come with a 5 year subscription to Sirius Travel Link, but it is dealer activated and some just set it up for a 3 month audio-only subscription. However, Sirius can reset that if the car hasn't been titled before, which is what we had to do with...
