    Current Cheap Places for Steel..

Hey! Lookin for the cheapest place for 15x8 steel wheels. 4 wheel parts seems to carry them at 45 a pop or so, same with summit racing. Anyone got any new places they bought for cheaper recently? Thanks!

    Getting new car....got some ????

I would stay away from the neon, lean more towards Civic or Focus, dont mod the civic, they are designed to be a DD not a rice car. Err, race car. :)

    Ford Dealership K&N Stuff

Re: FORD CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN Hehe, well, thanks for the advice/advising. This is a Ford Dealership Service department, so it's not by any means a small set up. Yeah, the exact wording for the o2 sensors was "One is burned out, and the other is weak"

    Ford Dealership K&N Stuff

Re: FORD CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN Well, I put the filter in new 10,000 miles ago and haven't cleaned or oiled it yet. I got a new tranny two weeks ago, since then I have had to have the 02 sensors replaced, and now this started happening two days after I got it back from that work...

    Ford Dealership K&N Stuff

Ha! I took the truck in for stalling, misfiring, and backfiring. The mechanic said that the oil from the K&N filter flooded the mass air flow sensor and made it go bad. So he replaced the mas and put in a Ford Air Filter. No word on bill yet, but I am an employee of this chain of dealerships and...

    Whee! Stalling, misfiring/backfiring!

Yes, thanks, I thought of that right after I posted. Theres a cap on a vacuum line that I've had to replace with a plugged rubber hose that keeps coming off. Im not sure why its there since it never connected to anything, just had a cap.

    Whee! Stalling, misfiring/backfiring!

Well, after counting my luck after getting a new tranny under waranty, and having two o2 senors replaced as the check engine light came on after leaving the shop; the truck has started idling roughly at a stop, backfiring or misfiring..(I cant tell, the truck jumps hard at highway speeds and the...

    A4LD Center Support

Just put truck in shop for tranny slipping, they found that the center support is dead. With 500 miles left on waranty too! *whew* They want to replace the tranny rather then fix it..I was just wondering what the center support does and wondered if anyone had any insight into why they want to...

    High or Low

I have always aired down and never gotten stuck *knocks on wood* I was just wondering how people felt on those few people that suggest leaving 4wd in low ALWAYS on the sand and if it puts less strain on the trannie in the long run. Im asking from a mechanical stand point, not really from a "how...

    High or Low

Oh, side note, I'll be in Hatteras the weekend of the 11th to the 14th in October. But, if anyone else has been following the long debate of "Hi or Low" on the www.reddrumtackle.com forum, it seems to be a stale mate there. I've always gone in High on the sand, some people are arguing to always...

    Stock sub wires

Thanks Alec. Its no big deal since if I hook the wiring to the amp wrong at first since it shouldn't blow up, just play the inverse. I can just fiddle if I need to. TJ

    Stock sub wires

Hi! Im grabbing my audio source from the stock subwoofer in the back of 93' limited, and couldnt figure out which wire is positive. They are both black, but the wire on the left has green stripes and the one on the right has gray stripes. Anyone know which is which? Thanks! TJ

    custom interior work

Why can I picture this car having a huge spoiler and TYPE R racing being proclaimed on a big banner sticker going across the windshield?

    Rear Window Laws

Well, I ordered a 17" by 17" version of this to put on my back window..when I started to worry about laws. The sticker is die cut, meaning the only parts I wont "be able to see through" are the black lines. (the white parts wont be there) Dead Link Removed Then I found this Virginia law...

    Dead Transmission

Well, I did a search and only managed to find topics on dying A4LD's with a little bit of mention on when the trannies died. Seems to me that a majority died the first time at 40k, 90k, or at 150k.. Is there any specific reason the ford automatics go so quickly sometimes? Maybe certain...

    Dead Transmission

Well, I just got my truck back from its 80k tune up and check up, having had my water pump and intake manifold repaired/replaced, both were covered by the waranty on it. I was wondering when everyone's transmission went...I hate to say this, but Im praying that mine dies in the next 10k...

    New Exhaust

Sorry to spam my own post, but I started thinking..(which might be dangerous as it leads to pointless worries) I bought my X used, with a hitch on the back..the existing exhaust exits on the side. Did the stock exhause go out the back originally or the side like it is? (passenger side) Im...

    New Exhaust

Hmmm, I'll have to see what Meineke says about waranties, I did read somewhere that they got screwed by Midas or Meineke, (I forget which), by only having the muffler waranteed. If that's their plan, then I'll order a pre-bent cat system. I mean, with 82k miles, being my primary vehicle, it gets...

    Tugboat oops.

Reminds me of the time.. Where a couple of guys with a brand new boat shoved it off the trailer to far up the ramp in the water, and landed it on the concrete.. and the time I saw this guy using too small of a tow hitch ball..he had a few girls with him, I went over, warned him it was too...

    New Exhaust

Yes, thanks! However, add shipping to that, and then if something goes wrong, (if it is waranteed), I have to take it off, pay for shipping back for a replacement, whereas I can go up to Meineke and say, whats the deal, my exhaust rusted out! ;)

NC, outer banks, Late June & Late July

Oregon inlet has sand packed down pretty hard, Cape Hatteras to "The Point" has farely soft sand, but no foot traffic beach go'ers to worry bout. Hatteras is driven so much though, that you get the 8" deep ruts that bounce up and down, so sometimes is easier to plow your own trail through the...

    Rear Speaker?

My Limited has that 5th subwoofer on the passenger side in the rear. Always gets stuff knocked against it, and begins rattling like crazy! Oh well, soon to finnish wiring in amp and put in 2 boxed 10's which can easily be removed for those trips to Cape Hatteras. :D

    New Exhaust

Well, Im going into Meineke to actually let them look at it and tell me a price on Thursday, over the phone they said it would probably run $200. Have the x in the shop today for an 80k tune up..

    New Exhaust

Re: Don't pay more than $200. Oooh, my midas did even better. :exp: :shoot: Guy started talking about how he said it would be hard to get a 2 1/4 pipe under there, let alone a 2 1/2 inch, then proceded to tell me a quote of $600 TJ
