Help: removing rear door windows and regulator.

My '94 has the split windows in the rear doors, the kind with a small, fixed window behind the regular one. My book doesn't exolain how to remove this kind, and though I found a thread here about it, the Photobucket images don't come up any more. I presume I need to remove that fixed window in...

Anybody have any luck finding replacements for these clips?

The metal clips that hold the power window switch panels (bezels) in the door trim?

Anyone know the secret to getting new manual tranny/t-case knobs seated all the way?

Until my latest project, I had put silicone on to keep it in place. I'm telling you, it was too much, as I had to knock the heck out of the knob to get it off. My suggestion to you is, use just a dot of silicone, or maybe try wrapping the stick with a few wraps of electrical tape.

Anyone know the secret to getting new manual tranny/t-case knobs seated all the way?

I replaced both, since the old ones were loose and rattling. I warmed up the inside with a hairdryer until they were good and warm, and pushed them into place. After that I tapped with a rubber mallet until they just wouldn't move anymore. They feel solid, but they are not seated all the down...

Anyone know where this little screw goes?

Could be, as I took it apart a bit to replace the weather seal. It's definitely from the back. I had to take off all the side panels, carpet, that big, hinged panel that the front of of the carpet hooks onto. I had to do all that to clean up rust and repaint, since the window had been leaking...

Anyone know where this little screw goes?

I had to take the cargo area of my '94 apart to repair a leaking window, dry out a damp carpet, replace the pad, etc. Really can't recall where this little screw came from. It's head is just 7/32.

Broken T-Case Speedometer Housing Bolt - UNCLE

How many threads are exposed? Are you just not able to to get the bits to drill a hole? That isn't a hardened bolt, so it should drill out. I'm not a machinist at all, but I did just use cobalt bits to drill a broken bolt out of an exhaust manifold flange. On my 2 speed drill, I had to use the...

Changing my '94 fuel filter, or How I Nearly Lost My Mind in No Easy Steps.

I don't know if you're dealing with garter springs, or the internal, squirrel cage type fingered springs. If it's the internal type, you might just go grab some new ones from an auto parts store, then simply cut through the tube of the filter. Once you do this, and get the filter body out of the...

Changing my '94 fuel filter, or How I Nearly Lost My Mind in No Easy Steps.

I think this is probably a good observation/suggestion. It was the furthest thing from my mind while mired in despair, but after getting everything apart and looking, and really just thinking about it when I was calmed down later that night, I started thinking I was probably trying to force the...

Changing my '94 fuel filter, or How I Nearly Lost My Mind in No Easy Steps.

I certainly felt moments of utter desperation. Researching later, I found this is not an uncommon problem, and that the replacement cages are easily available. Next time I'll grab some of those before I start, just in case I bugger one up bad enough I can't bend it back into shape.

Any luck finding transfer case knob for '94 recently?

Any luck finding transfer case knob for '94 recently?**FOUND ONE** I'm not having any trouble finding new transmission knobs, but no luck finding one for the t-case. LMC, 1aa, Rock, JCW, APW, nothing. Does anyone know if other Ford model/year knobs will work? Nothing lists dimensions for...

Changing my '94 fuel filter, or How I Nearly Lost My Mind in No Easy Steps.

Famous last words: "This shouldn't take long." I readnumerous articles and forum posts, watched numerous videos. I even took the time to pull the fuel pump relay and run the engine dry. I was being patient, and doing things right! My first mistake, I suppose, was buying the Performance...

    Valve cover seal RTV question.

    $14 isn't a bad price either.

    Liftgate seal.

Yep, it's quite an unusual design. I've found o e for a Ford Aerostar that has a similar design, but haven't been able to determine dimensions for it yet.

Yep, just checked again 10 minutes ago.

    Liftgate seal.

Has anyone had any luck finding a suitable replacement for the lftgate seal? I've looked and looked and looked for an OEM one, with no luck. Looking at aftermarket, I can't find one with the same shape and dimensions. Universal styles, by the foot, are not cheap, so I'm trying to avoid trial and...

    Valve cover seal RTV question.

I know, I almost didn't type it out of embarassment, but it's all I have. O.o I'd been thinking about using the Perma-dry by Fel-Pro, because that is by far the most recommended type I've seen here. I don't think it has been worked in before, so hopefully they haven't been over torqued...

    Valve cover seal RTV question.

Hey all, I'm planning on replacing the valve cover seals on my 4.0 non-SOHC in the next week or two. My Chilton's doesn't do a great job of explaining exactly where to put the RTV. Do I put a solid bead around, which is my first thought, or in just a couple specific places? Do I only put it on...

*FIXED! Thx Number4." Changed clutch on my '94, now the engine won't start. O.o

And, it's shifting great now, and the check engine light isn't coming on anymore because of the smashed O2 connector (which I smashed the previous I took the tranny out), and I got it done before the rains came. Biggest problem I had on this project was breaking a bolt off in the exhaust...

*FIXED! Thx Number4." Changed clutch on my '94, now the engine won't start. O.o

Number4, THANK YOU!!! It was the cut off, I hadn't even considered that. It probably popped when my dog distracted my while I was letting it down, and it came down pretty hard. Again, THANK YOU. And, thanks to everyone for their suggestions!

    That's a good question, I don't think I heard it whirring. I'll go check in a bit.

*FIXED! Thx Number4." Changed clutch on my '94, now the engine won't start. O.o

I'll have to wait and check that on Saturday, but it was running fine when I pulled it into the driveway 4 days ago. Really depressing, I tried so hard to be careful. I though maybe I knocked sonething loose while leaning across the engine to plug in the o2 sensors, but haven't seen...

*FIXED! Thx Number4." Changed clutch on my '94, now the engine won't start. O.o

What the heck have I done? The engine cranks, just won't start. I did replace a crushed o2 connector while at it, and pulled the coil pack to do that. I thought maybe I'd dorked that up, but resistance tests on it show it's fine. There are only a couple electrical connections to undo for a...
