How to: Replace Spark Plugs and Wires – 97 Ford Explorer, 6 Cylinder, SOHC

I just finished this job on a '95 by accessing all plugs from up top. It's a b*tch no matter how you go at it, but I've changed them from up top a couple times. There are a couple things I use that make it a lot easier--a 3/8 thumb ratchet and socket cap. Invest in a good plug wire boot puller...

All you need to know about keyless entry

Have a '95 Ford remote fob, trying to program a '00 Mercury Mountaineer. Went through the eight power cycles and the car entered program mode but wouldn't allow the fob to register. The fob works as I use it on my '95. Any ideas?

    Coolant temp fluctuations

'91 4.0 4x4 Auto 170k Had overheating probs this summer in FL. Told it was the fan clutch. Back in NC since March. Overheated in stop and go traffic but was good temp at high speed. So I pulled the therm at that time, not much money to spend. Recently, replaced fan clutch and therm. Rad...

    Interior door pull repair

Yep, I saw that. The entire structure of all 4 pulls/pads in mine are gone or nearly gone. So I will need to create pieces to fit the entire length. I'd pad the fronts in the 'arm rest area' for comfort and leave the rest exposed and finished as you have done. Great Work!

    Interior door pull repair

Wow, they look great. I was thinking poplar and covering them. After seeing this I may choose a different wood and just stain them. I'd have to pad the back part of the front pulls since there is almost nothing left of the original arm rest area.

    Interior door pull repair

We all dye, sooner or later. Andy just didn't seem the sort to be... oops... I was thinking of the movie. Big Q... what fabric or plastic will match the texture of those original pulls? I'm lost when it comes to interiors. But my bud can dye about anything.

DeRocha's Door Hinge Pin Replacement w/pics

Carbide Bur I used a carbide bur on an air drill to shave off the tops of the pins. Took an impact hammer with a center punch and drove out the pins. Replaced with new bushings and pins... works like new. I would suggest everyone lube up the new set with lithium spray or another lubricant after...

    Interior door pull repair

Poplar door pulls I also have the '91 XL door pull problem. Funny, all 4 of mine have broken... literally all four doors. A bud and I are fashioning poplar wood replacements. I have the dark red interior. Any hints on where I might find a matching fabric to cover the wood?
