I was thinking the exact same thing before i got it. I was seriously contimplating a bigger amp, but the audio shop i work with is really cool and they said if i didn't like the 500/1 i could exchange it within 30 days and get a full money back for something else. So i had nothing to loose by...

here is my setup, though, the box is not custom, it is manufactured by a company called Subzone. It is 2inch thick MDF and weighs 45lbs unloaded :eek:

I don't know what you buddy has goin on with his setup but 4 12w7's should waste 3 12w0's anyday. Not saying your a liar, but something just ain't right. I do know what you mean about the w7's being power pigs, as I thought the same way until I hooked mine up with just the 500/1 running it...

here are some pics of the new 12W7 in the AWESOME subzone box. I don't know if any of the pics show it good enough or not, but i also swapped out the 300/2 for a 500/1. Check it out and let me know what you think...

sorry, i guess i should have updated this thread. I did decide to just go with the 500/1 and i'm glad i did. it pushes my sub very well. i can't imagine what it would sound like if i had the 1000/1 but i would think that it would be too much since it already POUNDS the way it is. i'll get...

Just wondering if anyone has seen/used them on 2nd gen X's? I was checking them out at truckperformance.com because they are on sale. It says you have to do some cutting of the old grill, i wonder how hard these are to install and how they look? One other question, I was reading a thread...

Does anyone know the dimensions of the air filter that comes with the kit? Also, the diameter of the tube? I want to get a second one so that I have one clean and ready to drop in with no down time. I'll probably get a K&N or some other brand just so i can compare them to what came with the MAC...
