    351 with bodylift?

thank you. I'm just trying to figure out what all of my options are at this point, what I actually wind up doing is going to come down to what kind of drive train I find locally and at what cost. being a sport I am already planning on custom length drive shafts

    351 with bodylift?

So I've spent some time searching for engines and the most available one i can find seems to be the 351w. I've read alot about clearance issues on the second gens. my question however is if the 351 would be an easier fit if the body was lifted 2 or 3 inches. I'm not to familiar with how the...

    motor trouble to project truck

I will mostly be working on my truck on Saturdays and I have to prepare a few things first so It will probably be a couple of weeks before I get any REAL dismantling done. Ideally I'm waiting for a rear end collision explorer to show up somewhere. Any money I generate in parts is going right...

    motor trouble to project truck

So in short, my rear timing chain has been rattling real bad for about a week and finally the engine is starting to backfire quite a bit. needless to say it can no longer be my DD and I refuse to get rid of my ford explorer. this "problem" has given me an opportunity to get some more involved...

    rattle/tick noise from engine

heres a video I took the sound is very hard to hear because my camera has a terrible microphone http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TeMCIKJxkY it sounds like a loose heat shield but coming from the engine itself

    rattle/tick noise from engine

My sohc 4.0 is experiencing a minor clicking/ticking noise. The intake also seems to sound louder although it might just be my imagination The noise not coming from the pullies as I have started the motor without the belt and it is still making the noise. The frequency of the noise is somewhat...

    Fog lights still out

You could also test the relays with a meter but you'll need to run 12v to the proper terminals to see whether or not they are energizing properly, they also should make a click noise if they are. I went to a junk yard and picked up every fuse, relay and lamp that I could out of an explorer and...

    Fog lights still out

sounds like it could be a possibility. you could always test the button for continuity with a multimeter. I'm not 100% sure but if i remember correctly when I had one of my relays out the light on the button did not light up at all

    12v under hood switched power

thanks for all the input I checked all of the fuses under the hood with a meter and they all showed 12v with the truck off so I ran a wire from inside my truck. Every thing works great, I'm really happy with the new fan :)

    12v under hood switched power

Ive connected the ground and constant 12v directly to the battery all i need is a switched 12v source low amperage for when the cars ignition is on so its not running ALL the time, it also comes with a temperature probe its the flex-a-lite black magic 150 fan and I have no AC so all i needed was...

    12v under hood switched power

I know this is the stock forum but I'm doing an electric fan swap and all I need is a stock 12v power source to tap off of for the fan controller on my 97 sport SOHC. I'm looking for 12v low amp that comes on with the ignition

    Fog lights still out

I'm not sure how different the wiring is between years/engines but there were two relays for my 97 4.0 and they were both under the intake in a small black box on the passenger side

Switching a/c compressor to a/c bypass pulley

I'm not too familiar with the 5.0 belt setup but before i removed my compressor, condenser, etc I just ran a shorter belt with everything still in place. It would probably be a lot less work going with a shorter belt but again I'm not too familiar with your belt setup. if you do go shorter make...
