Nothing fancy, but I LOVE it so far. Still need to get matching carpet and finish the amp rack. Gonna install 2 fans, one on each side of the amp, one blowing on the amp and the other off, and frame out the sides and cover with 1/4" plexiglass. The box is a hair over 1cu ft and made with 3/4 in mdf, gorilla glue, 3 in drywall screws & silicone caulk.
I am shocked how much 1 12 can pound!!! IT'S AWESOME!!!!

I have wanted to do this since I was 16 (I'm 29), and I'm so glad I did!!! :bounce:

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of $$$ are we looking at there? I'm no audiophile.

I still have the old carpet from my Explorer that is tan. Are you looking for that type of carpet or looking to get some new carpet that just looks the same?

Infinity Kappa Perfect 12.1 $149.95
JBL Power P-180.2 $119.95
Lightning Audio Strike LS05-03 Cap $45.95
Phoenix Gold QX Series QSX803 8 gauge complete wiring kit $29.95
Stinger MGR12 sub grill $16.95
Stinger SF2 cooling fans (2) $31.90
R/T TBS speaker terminal insert $3.50
I got all that from Sounddomain.com, about 400 bucks there.

1 sheet of 3/4" MDF $20
1 bottle gorilla glue $8
1 box of 3" drywall screws $3
1 box of 1" drywall screws $3
That all from Lowes, so about 35 bucks there.

Monster Power Bananna Clips (4) $25
4 8 gauge ring terminals $20
Those from ciruit city, so about 45 bucks.

Still need to get a relay and the plexiglass & carpet.

When it's finished should be total to be about 500-600 dollars.

BTW, you can't get the Perfect for that price anymore, I got it just in time before the sale ended!!!
It's back to $299

Bbq...

I just want something that will match my interior.
What did ya have in mind?

cool, nice work. Would it be overkill for Rock and Country? I was looking to get a powered bazooka 8 or 10.

Thanks man.
It's perfect for rock and even country.
Hits very tight and clean, not "boomy" at all.
Very solid sound.

I'm a helper, not a money maker. If you need it, then we just need to get what you need to do the job to ya. do you think that if you got the part that covers the rear cargo area it would be enough? Just pay for the shipping if you need it. It would need to be cleaned for sure, but it's not that dirty or nasty or anything. That is why I replaced it all with new carpet.

looks sweet...why dont ya bridge the amp for that sub?

oops my bad

covered in vinyl or painted it'll be real clean looking!

you're never too old to get into car audio!

What color would you paint it? And I know, my Dad is 52 and he loves it!!

If you dont want to carpet, or vinyl it.... I'd just try and match the tan of your factory plastics etc. Or you could do a two tone tan/color of your ex. etc. smooth it out, hide the screws etc. lots of possibilites to make stuff look good.
