The 4R70 has one external case sensor (if we choose not to call the digital range sensor a "sensor" per se.) and that is the OSS or output shaft speed sensor.
It's pretty plain Jane. I still have the case on the stand, and I have turned it sideways. First I add a little vaseline to the bore so the O-rings will slide in easily....
Here is the FORD part # for a new one.. they run about $15
anyway... then I put the sensor in place...
add the securing bolt...
torque it tight....
and voila! ......OSS.
I may add a little dialectric grease into the fitting and onto the pins... we shall see... I'll come back and explain hows and whys if I do.
