Hey everyone, I've Got an 2001 Explorer Sport 4x4 at 287K. The rear springs are tired and flat, its not a monoleaf but the (3/1) leaf spring pack. I was thinking about getting a new 4 door leaf spring pack or just adding a leaf to mine to increase the ride height back. I want to try adding a...
I just wanted to put this information out there, I had a hard time tracking it down myself. I could not find a definitive answer anywhere on what bushings or even what size I needed for my leaf springs, so I finally pulled everything apart and measured it with calipers and found a suspension...
I'm replacing rear suspension parts on my on 94 Explorer. The leaf springs at the top of the list on Auto and Truck Springs (here) indicate that they are for 1st gen Explorers but also indicate that they are for over the axle. However, my springs sit under the axle. The arch measurement on these...
hi there,
I’ve just been doing some research on getting some new leaf springs for my 99 Ford Explorer XLT. Upon closer inspection, I’ve seen that the leaf springs from the Explorer and the springs from the courier look very very similar.. my question is, can a courier leaf spring fit on a Ford...
Its been awhile since i've been on here but I have to a point where I want to lift my explorer just a couple inches but I am having troubles with how to go about it. I know i could do the TT to the front but i'm trying to stay cheap for the rear. Does anyone have any good recommendations for...
Was wanting to order the Warrior shackles to give my Explorer a little bit of lift in the back end. The problem is is that I can't seem to find the bushings for sale anywhere. Not sure if my existing bushings are still good or not. I was wanting to just go ahead and replace all with new. I was...
I want to lift my stock 1998 Ford Explorer XLT V6 4x4 SOHC. Should I add a leaf spring? Shackles? Both? Do I need new U bolts or bushings? Should I also get non stock shocks? Any and all information is greatly appreciated! Also, if you have any links or P/N to these parts that would help to...

need some help please. I've read many of the threads already, but i haven't seen one yet that covers my current issue. I got a set of rear leaf springs from a 98 explorer 4 door from a salvage yard. I want to put in new bushings, but everywhere i look, they can't get em. I even measured them...
I have an 98 ford explorer sport 4.0 SOHC and my question is what can I do to my truck so it doesn't bounce so much, I'm thinking on changing the 1 leaf spring suspension with a more stiffer one. Is there one from another vehicle that will fit. Thank You
My 96 XLT 4.0 was sagging pretty bad in the read and espically the drivers side (the drivers side sits almost 3" Lower than the passenger side) so I bought brand new leaf springs and when I just installed them and re measured the ride height it was exactly the same as before I put the new...
I got a nice sag going on not to mention it's a rough ride hitting bumps. Any suggestions on a CHEAP EASY FIX? I drive this truck to work and back and will be using it a lot during the winter and in the snow.
So much information out there, thought I'd consolidate some for the group!!
(Note: my bushings are a *****)....

On a trip camping I was towing our boat up to the lake and I had noticed that the Temp. Gauge had shot up to H and so I pulled over and opened the hood and on the passenger side of the engine, antifreeze was leaking and a hose had broken in two, however the hose was connected by a black plastic...
I just got the rear shocks on my 2000 XLT changed and replaced with Monroe Load Adjusting Shocks. I recommend these for anyone's truck that has the "gangster lean" problem. Where the rear left side leans lower than the right and the back is lower than it should be. The new Monroe's actually...
Hey, i was lookin around under my truck the other day, and the driver leaf spring bracket (the shackle...is that what its called?) is almost completely rusted through. Does anyone have an estimate on those installed?

If my leaf springs in the rear are under the axle and i do not want to go as high as it would put me if flipped them could i just buy like a 4in. lift and just put the leafs on top instead of bottom when i install the lift kit?
So I have a problem with my leaf springs. They are sagging bad. The questions I have are A.) Can they be bought from a pull-a-part/junk yard? B.) Are there any other years or models I can gank them from? C.) Can I add a lift by taking one from another explorer or another truck? Thanks for...
Does anyone know if the bushings will stay in the leaf spring when i remove the bolts, or will they come out and need to be replaced. I am getting ready to replace them and am just planning. Thanks!
I am getting ready to repair a rusted leaf spring shackle. I just bought the cheap replacements from autozone. I was wondering if I would also need to replace a bushings in the leaf springs as well. If so, how difficult is that. Also if any of you have any useful tips when repairing these, they...
