Chasing a "cranks but won't start" problem, I think I found a short to ground between the fuel pump fuse and fuel pump relay.
The relay is fine and I get spark when cranking. The pump doesn't whir. I did not check pressure or fuel filter. Want to tackle the shorts first.
With the key off...
My 94 explorer will not start every time now.
If I turn the key to on, the fuel pump will turn on and prime the system to 40 psi, and the engine will start. If from the the off position, i turn it all the way to start the engine, it will not add any pressure, and will not start.
I have a working fuel pump, new fuel filter, new fuel pressure regulator and no pressure at the shraeder valve.
I can hear the fuel pump run when I turn on the key (3-5 seconds), but no pressure at the shraeder valve, any ideas?
