    To start off thanks to all that reply your the hart of all that keeps sites like this going. 2002 explorer with 5R55W transmission. Started out a bad leak,thought it was a torque converter seal,till I was pulling transmission and saw the overdrive servo cover and snap ring hanging out. Well...

    Hey all. I have a 98 Eddie Bauer :exp: a few months back it started doing some weird stuff... While going up hill at rates of 45 MPH there was this weird grinding noise coming from the area of the transmission. If I turned the O/D off the noise would go away and I would continue to climb in...

    The good ole' O/D off blinking light. help

    I have a 1997 ford explorer 4wd xlt 4 door. i had no problems with it until i was on the highway one day and i got the blinking overdrive light. i took it to a mechanic and they replaced the solenoid in the tranny but that didnt work. They said "it needs a rebuild". but they never got the codes...
