So I just picked up a 2000 sport OHV 5 speed as a mechanics special.
Yesterday I put a clutch and hydraulics in it, but when I went to put the shift boot back over the shifter I noticed something about the boot.
The boot has a hard plastic base with a cup holder on the right side, but on the left side there's a slot that runs full length front to back, about 1/4" wide, 3/4" deep and has a finger relief in the middle.
Any idea what this slot is supposed to be there for?
