Hi, I have a '01 Explorer XLT 4X4 and am seeing transmission repair in my future. I was looking at it and cant seem to figure out how you get to the bolts that connect the torque converter to the flex plate to remove the transmission???? I own the wrong-weak repair manual. Any help or diagram would be great!!! Thanks for your time!:p:

Welcome to this forum! I've moved your thread into the transmission section. Remove the starter, and turn the engine. You will see 4 nuts holding the flexplate to the torque converter. The torque converter has 4 studs.

Thank you that does help! I will go check it out! Really appreciate it! I am used to seeing an inspection plate so I was thrown.

One side has a starter, and the other side has an inspection plate (at least on the older models with an A4LD). Take a look to see if you have an inspection plate on the opposite side. If not, take a picture of that side.
