Hi, I have a 2001 explorer xlt 4 doors and I just chang shocks, the upper ball joints, the sway bar bushings, sway bar repair kit, but it didnt fix the problem I have, hope you guys can help me out. Well I love my explorer but the only thing I really hate is that when ever I go in to a rough road my car starts going like sideways, like if someone is shaking the truck. also if people are sleeping or on the car everything moves and is like going from left to right movement. hope you guys can help?

check to make sure the sway bar links are not broken, broken links will give you "body roll" or that side to side sway you are referring to.

Thanks, I replace that parts already and is the same thing

Hmmmm... Tire rod's possibely.. that could cause wondering of the truck..

I don't know if this will help or not. I recently changed out the shocks on my 2001 Ex with Monroe Sensatracs to get a more compliant or softer ride. I do mostly in-town driving on crappy roads. Anyway, even after I installed new shocks, the rear was still hopping around. After reading some postings, I removed the 5th shock. Wow, what a difference. The suspension feels totally different and is definitely more compliant now. Now, I have yet to get it out on the highway, but you could try this. It was not hard to remove.

You may want to consider replacing your front sway bar links. Mine were hard as a rock. With the new links installed, I also only tightened them until they were just barely touching. My truck rides great now. It doesn't buck side to side anymore. Of course, I do not drive much on the highway. With a little testing, you could probably find a point in the middle.
