02-03 tranny's???

Hello All,

I have a question regarding tranny's on 02-04 models. I just realized that there is no dipstick for the tranny's on these models. How the heck am I supposed to check the fluid level later on? Pardon my ignorance, I'm a first-time explorer owner. Man, it just seems like a terrible idea to me(about the dipstick that is).

If i'm not mistaken, arent the new trannies "sealed for life?" If thats the case, im not so thrilled abouut it, considering Ford's history when it comes to AOD trannies.

...yeah, you're probably right. I guess I'm going to have to cross my fingers huh? I just can't imagine why FORD would do that! Thanks for the reply.
