02 explorer tranny issues

Hi everybody I have an 02 explorer with a p0715 Turning input sensor code can someone let me know where that sensor is located?
Somebody told me it was internal and then another shop told me it was external on top of transmission drivers side by tail shaft housing can somebody help.

iirc on my 5r55e its internal (i think), but not sure about your 5r55w however.

I have a Explorer production date is 11/01 it has an 5r55s trans in it what years uses that transmission and what will cross to it I found a transmission in a wrecking yard where I live at the trans. Is coming out of a vehicle with a production date of 07/01 the casing is very clean it looks like it has been rebuilt the price they want is only 235.00 with my military discount it will be less but I was just wondering if it is worth it and how hard is it to rebuild the 5r55s transmission I'm not going to give up mine out of the truck I'm thinking of tearing into it to see what happened and why it quit.
