02 Rear defrost and rear wiper issue.

I noticed today that the rear defroster button stays lit and won't shut off and the rear wiper doesn't come on nor does the washer fluid come out either. I checked the under dash fuse and its good and the under hood fuse looks good. Well its not the relay. Once again, thanks Its been solved..

Please share how you solved it. Or are you saying that the act of you mentioning it shamed your Explorer into getting itself right on its on? I've had that happen on another car I have. Had a door latch part that wouldn't work for several weeks and the day that the part came and I had set aside to tear into the door to replace the part it started working 100%. Almost spooky

Once we found the motor was getting power, ran a temp ground from the motor to the chassis and she worked. So we pulled the panel off the full gate and up where the wires go into it from the glass gate found the ground line had broken. Seems all the opening and closing wore it through. So everything from the defroster, washer and wiper all run off that ground. Hope that helps.
