02 upper control arms

Has anybody replaced the upper control arms on a 02-05
four door? If so what parts did you use and where did you purchase them. How tuff of a job was it?

I just replaced the upper ball joints in the control arms on my 03. To get the arms off was not hard at all. Get something to prop the hub on when you get the ball joint to come loose and thats about it. It came right out and it wasn't hard to get back in.

Thanks, did you replace the whole arm? If so what part did use; moog,ford,trw?
Its my understanding the ball joint cant be pressed out, the whole arm must be replaced.

Yeah i was told that it couldn't be pressed out and i got it out, no problem with a Hydraulic press. I used the old arm and went with a moog ball joint. Didn't solve my problem but at least i didn't have to pay the $850 the Ford dealership was going to charge me and then find out.

Hello all. I was replacing the front hub on my 03 4dr and had a problem with the upper ball joint. When i was tryig to take the nut off the ball joint it wound up stripping due to rusting. I wound up having to cut the nut of the ball joint and now i need a new one. I have seen some say they are not replaceable. The part is availible at parts stores, that is the ball joint. This makes me think it is replacebale. I am going to try and get it pressed out tomorrow at a garage. Hopefully it comes out and the new one presses in.

Ok just got back from a local mechanic and the upper balljoint pressed right out. The new one "moog (brand)" pressed right in its place. Put everything back together in 20 min.
