03 explore 4.0 rough idle misfire

i have a 03 explorer 4.0 with 115k miles
when i stop at a red light the with shake and juke back and forth. sometimes stall and my rpms jump up and down.
and my mpg is down it a gas sucker now.
took to auto the code read. it said misfire on number 5 cylinder.
so for i gave it a tune up
new spark plug, wires and power pack.

I clean
the IAC valve
MAF sensor
and took it to a shop for
compression check and a smoke check to see if there a vacuum leak, nothing there.
this is a real head scratchier.

any advice would be great. im running out things to check.

im thinking worse case is a crack cylinder at 115k mile i plan on keeping her alot longer then this.

a friend of mine had the same problem with his wrx. and it was his fuel injector. i dont know if this will help me but at least i have a direction on where to go next. ill post back on what i find.

well the engine lock up. so i need to swap it out now. talk about a bad day smh
