03 explorer sport 4.0 engine replacement

I have a 03 Explorer sport 4.0 engine code e that has a blown engine i bought a 06 ranger engine 4.0 engine code e my mechanic says it will not work because the intake is different and injectors are to big if this makes sense to anyone i could use some help thanks

get a new mechanic.

Worst case use the old intake and injectors, the motors are the same. oh and do what vipersinu2 said.
