The whistling noise sounds like an intake hose leaking or off its connection. When you step on the gas you increase the amount of airflow into the intake manifold. When you let off the gas the air flow decreases. It could be an intake manifold gasket as well, but I doubt it.The body parts are called panels. Lower or upper. rear or front. They maybe 1/4 panels or 1/2 panels depending whether you have a 2 or 4 door

It's a two door sport and thanks for your reply I'll check intake connections. I recently had a new windshield installed then after that is when the whistling started. But I don't see a way they could of messed n e thing up doing that he didn't open hood. Unless there's something unde where the windshield wiper sprayer are. Not sure

Well the best way to find out what it is, is to have someone listen with the hood up as you work the gas pedal. Or you can roll the throttle yourself and check to see if you can tell where the whistling comes from. Its probably not due to your windshield being replaced.

yea i have tried that only does itwhen car is in drive and moving

Do you smoke? If not bum a cigarette off someone. Get into vehicle and start driving until you hear the whistle. Take a passenger with you. Light cigarette, now run the cigarette along the bottom, top and side edges of windshield and look for the way the smokes moves. You do the driver's side and you guessed it, the passenger does their side. If it moves away from the windshield, you found your whistling source. My guess is the windshield was not installed properly. It needs to be removed and reinstalled again with new seal kit. In CA it is illegal for glass shops to reuse a windshield (was told by glass company). I had a similar problem like you with my 92 Explorer. They had to install a brand new windshield and seal kit and my whistling problem was solved.

The sheetmetal you asked about is a quarter panel. It's welded in place and not held on with bolts like a fender. It connects to the roof, B pillar and C pillar. Side glass has to be removed also if replacing entire 1/4 panel. Lots of cutting and welding. Not a home project.

Yes thank you for your reply I have checked if the whistling was from air coming thru windshield. But nothing. The whistling now that I pay close attention only happens when engine is cold and only during accelerating while moving. It stops once engine is warmed up and starts again when cold. I can't pin point whistle location because only happens while moving but when in driver seat whistle comes from my right front so the center louder over the dash then under. Once I get up to speed with gas steady it stops or quiets. When I step more on gas whistle come back sound is louder as rpms get higher. Tommarrow I will double check everything under hood and see wut I can find. Haven't had slot of time to fiddle around. Figured I post a question maybe someone else had similar issue.
