2003 Explorer Eddie Bauer, 4x4, 4.6 liter, 84,000 miles
3in body lift, 265/75/16 Wranglers
Ok, I was driving down the interstate at about 65 mph and my explorer's transmission felt like it just stopped working. I rolled to the side of the road and stopped. I can put the transmission in any gear and it feels like it is in neutral. I put it in 4x4 high and low with no change.
At any rate I called AAA and had the truck towed home. I am pretty sure it is the transmission and know for a fact that the servo bore update has not been done. At this point though I really think it was the trans pump or torque convertor. I took it to a Ford dealership earlier in the year and they adjusted the bands and replaced the convertor...
What do you all think, new transmission time or am I overlooking something?
