ii recently had some problems with my transfer case and aquired one from a friend who had one, my original case model number is 4l24-7a195-ab ,and the one he gave me was 4l24-7a195-ae ,does anyone know what the diffrence is between the ae and ab? thx guys for any help you can give me on this problem

Most likely just a later production TC.

I agree. The last letter in a Ford part # typically refers to the revision or update, starting with A. Sometimes it might mean the difference between left and right where that's applicable.
