Buddy of mine called me a few weeks ago saying his Explorer wouldn't start. I went by and checked the obvious items that were easily checked at night with a tiny flashlight... Fuses and relays good. Battery charged. No visible corrosion on posts or wires. When the key is turned, all lights come on... No clicking. Nothing, when you turn the key to start. He called yesterday to say it started up when he tried to crank it on a whim.
Reading, it seems that the V8 models have a problem with a starter solenoid wire becoming corroded or welded. Is this also a common problem with the V6 model? If so, does anyone have pictures or a link to a thread detailing the easiest way to test and or fix this problem?
Any other suggestions are also appreciated.
