This is the vehicle I just purchased. Notice the front bumper is not flush with the side...it's the same on both sides. Obviously it's not the correct part. Any thoughts? Thanks

I have the same year Explorer XLT (front bumper included) as you and as others have said, your front bumper is incorrect for the fender wells you have. I have the "fender flares" you are missing that go with that front bumper. You might want to do car check of the vehicle to see if it was ever in a recorded accident.

i'm going to take it back and let them know they sold me a vehicle illegally....they may not have known, but I do not know the extent of the damage/repair sooooo, it's best if I take it back. I've only had it for a few days.

Good Luck! Don't back down!

i had to buy a brand new battery and wiper blades cuz the ones on there (which passed inspection) were ripped and hanging LOL I'm not happy with the things that are not right, but I do not want to fight with this place where I got it...they don't have a good rep and it would cost more to fight with them. Lesson learned.

You shouldn't have had to buy a new battery or wiper blades for this vehicle even if the old ones passed a state inspection, they should have been glad to replace those low cost things to make the sale. Always tell a dealership big or small, what you want repaired or replaced on a vehicle to make you happy, and do so after you have negotiated the sale price. Dealerships have plenty of profit room to work with to repair the things a buyer wants done to a vehicle. On a rough average, dealerships pick up used vehicles(from trade-ins/auto auctions) for $3000-$4000 under what they are selling them for on their lots. I know this by having a long time friend who owned his own small car dealership and before he moved to Florida, I bought all my vehicles thru him, even going with him to the dealers car auctions and picking out the vehicle I wanted him to bid on for me. I bought my cars or trucks at his dealer cost, plus $300 he wanted for his fee which included the registration/plates fee with DMV. I saved around $4k on every vehicle I bought from him, it was great.

Here is a list of repairs or parts replacements I got the dealership I bought my Explorer from, to do for me when I bought my Explorer in January of 2011. My Ex had 82K on it when I bought it, fully loaded, 3rd row seats, w/moonroof, (w/vinyl seats and no rear AC/heat(thank god) only thing it didn't have) and I paid $10,200 for it and it blue book valued for $12,900-$13,600 at the time of purchase. Here is the list of what they did for me after I worked out the price of the vehicle with them, 4 new tires, paid for wheel alignment after tire install, repaired front axle seal, repaired driver side seat panel(tear in it),new lower drivers seat trim panel(panel for power seat buttons), new 850 CCA battery(one it had in it was undersized for truck), new fog lamps from NAPA, new CarQuest serpentine belt, installed all new stereo speakers-Pioneers, had the transfer case overhauled(Tranny Shop work), had a cheap fix done for tranny problem, followed by a complete rebuilt transmission(Tranny Shop work), still going strong. On the tires they wanted to pay for half of the cost of a new set, I said unacceptable so they caved on that, and the rebuilt tranny I had to fight with them on by using the NY Lemon Law against them. Aside from the transmission fight I had to deal with, you can see you can get the dealerships to pay for quite a bit of repair or parts replacements if you apply yourself. This dealership was a small, 25 cars on the lot place. BTW, since you bought your EX a few days ago and should have at least a 30 day LL warranty, check the "Lemon Law" for your state to see if it will cover you for that front clip issue.
