07 Mountaineer fuel filler neck question

I have an 07 Mountaineer base model 6cyl. Every time I gas up I have to let gas almost trickle down into the tank or it clicks off. Is there a baffle in the tank that gets stuck or is this almost always certainly a charcoal can replacement issue?

If you try to keep topping off the tank after the nozzle has clicked off on its own then this can cause the problem you are having. It fills the charcoal canister with gas and this makes it hard to fill the tank quickly. Usually not topping it for a few fill ups can allow the gas time to clear from the canister. You should see if any trouble codes are tripped that can give you some insight as to where the problem lies.
