1/4 Mile Run Times

I'm running the SS tune and am gaped down. Issue 1 is the stalling after start if you put it in gear and try to get going immediately.

Issue 2 is a loss of power/surging at wide open throttle. I seem to have noticed it almost exclusively at ~4800-5000 rpms in third gear (this puts you in the 60-70mph highway passing/merging speeds). I don't feel it in first and second gear, and i'm rarely ever WOT in 4th or above, no place to really go fast where I live. I never felt it doing this until temps have droped to <70 degrees.

With this second issue i know where he was going, he's asking if I'm gapped down to make sure it's not spark blow out/misfire, but thats not the case. Especially if people running the 93 tune now are seeing this.

Exactly what I was getting at, I just wanted to ensure that it wasn't an issue of blow out for some of the people experiencing the problem.

Id say that since your having the same issue on the RA3 tune CobraJohn, its not exclusive to the SS tune. Also since Ryan and I are gapped down and still having the issue; Id say it safe to assume its not that.

I thought at first perhaps it was a bit of bad gas but we've been through a few tanks since and Ive still noticed it. Its at the exact same point for me Ryan; ~65mph and right around 5k in third. Im away at work right now, and I swapped it to the 91 tune for the old lady while Im gone, but Ill probably put some miles on the 91 tune when I get home to see if I can recreate the issue there as well.

I haven't experienced issue 1 yet, but Ill keep an eye out for it.

Hey Ken, you still around at all? Haven't heard from you in a bit...any news on that update?

Ok, going back to stock until an update. My wife called and the sport stalled out on her. It took her several minutes to get it going again and after that it was fine. There are currently way to many issues with the 93 DD and my sport. Hopefully a fix is in the works or I have a $600 paperweight :'(

I just submitted a ticket on the Lund support site, I'll report back here when I receive a response.

Well, that was fast, which is a great sign. Ken just responded with the below:

Art,

I'm out of town and will be back Friday. I'll be looking into it when I get
back. Sorry for the delays. If you could post up to let everyone know, I'll
have it resolved for everyone by next week.

Ours has started the rough idle game now...not fun. Hopefully we get an update soon to straighten this out!

I have the money ready and almost at first oil change which was what I was originally waiting on. However, I can't decide whether go go with LUND or the other. It seems the latest tunes are having some issues and the other vendor doesn't put out any updates so I am not sure which is a better route to go. Ugh, I want this decision to be easy.

I chose Lund due to delivery concerns on the other. The initial service with Lund was outstanding, the performance is impressive, and they say they're working on an update, I'm confident they'll get it worked out, this is still very early for the aftermarket, don't forget the Explorer tuning just started this Summer.

I am going to be ordering a sport soon and have been keeping an eye on both threads and still trying to figure out which tuner to go with. I haven't seen issues on the other thread like with the Lund tunes. Are they also having issues but just not asking about them in the forum or there just are none to complain about? I was leaning towards Lund but it seems everyone is having issues. Hopefully they will have it sorted out soon or at least before my sport shows up so I can make a decision.

I was ready to pull the trigger on the Lund tuner based on how active they were initially on the tuner, but then they seemed to have hit a snag and slowed down some. I just don't want to regret my decision. :-)

I don't have any issues at all with the Livernois tune. It drives like stock, but better. I think they haven't released a lot of updates because they don't need to.

Sorry guys, I have been traveling non stop over the last few weeks. This is a high priority for us.

As a note, I returned my to stock to about a week and was having some odd surging issues even stock. I believe some of the newer strategies fixed this (stock) so I can apply some of the factory changes to the older strategies.

We will have a new release ready for download for all strategies Monday 10/21

I've only had my tune for a couple days but i have been in 80 degree and 63 degree weather with it. Zero issues on stalling etc. It has given a very nice jump in power as well. I also am running a Livernois which is why i quoted your post.

Is the new release still on track for release today?

Was really hoping it would be here today, but no dice

For anyone that wants to discuss the Livernois tune there is a separate thread for that. Please stop thread jacking.
