I know they have to exist SOMEWHERE on the web...! Anyone know where I could find 1/4 mile times for explorers? Specifically the 5.0's and SOHC sports. I'm trying to aggravate my Ford hating coworker :D

Danke!

or you could just show them my latest time

R/T .502
60' 2.308
330' 6.648
1/8 10.245
MPH 68.62
1000' 13.362
1/4 16.036
MPH 84.02

It's with the mods listed in my signature.

16.036, huh? Ouch ;)

I seem to remember reading some hogwash in either car & driver or road & track that said a 2wd SOHC sport was capable of high 14's in the quarter...

I'm taking Blackjack to Cecil County Dragway Friday night, 20's and all, to see just how ridiculously slow he's gotten in his old age. I'll post my times this weekend (no matter how embarrassing they may be  )

How is the stroker motor going for Black Jack?

Spas - I beleive my 01 sport is in the 14's but that's with just about every bolt-on you can get for the 4.0 SOHC. I'm not sure what the stock 4.0 SOHC get's in the quarter but I believe the 0-60 is around 8.0 second flate. That's around 15 - 16 second quarter stock. My 0-60 times right now are in the 6 second range, which translates to 14's OR possible low 15's.

Stroker's on hold until I find and get settled into a new place... and rob a bank :D

Jakee, thanks for that. Sounds about right for 1/4 times. I'm guessing Jack's best time will be mid 16's since I still have the transfer case in (there goes about 40% of the engine's power  ) and my SOHC is wheezing under full load. Who knows, if I blow it up maybe I'll just have to get started on the swap sooner ;)

I hope to get my X out to the track once more this year...
The last time (and my first time ever) my best was a 17
This was of course only running 3/4 of the way before blowing up my rear diff.

Now I have a Limited Slip rear end (old one was open diff)
Also mine is a supercharged Sport so Im definately hoping for low 14s or better.

Muaha haha!

Suffice to say, I was pleasantly surprised last night.... (don't pick on my reaction time!)

That's at 67 degrees, no spare tire, no front 4wd, windows up, air off, freshly cleaned air filter, 1/4 tank of 93 Octane and 295 series rear tires. The only real engine mods I have done are a half-ass flowmaster cat back and a KKm open air filter. I'm 100% sure that if I lost the t-case and had a 2wd trans, Jack would be in the 14's :D

Btw, that was the best run of the night. My reaction time dropped to .402, but a Challenger screamed into my window and scared me off the line..... I dun wanna talk about it.....

 guess that shows just how much the awd, and extra weight of a 4 door kills the power.

HA! That one would be more like 17.8.

Minutes. :p:

And they'd have to stop the race so I could pick my tranny parts off the track.

Interesting. I need to get to the track!

Welp, my reaction time still sucks. I redlighted the first shot, sucked the second, and finally got a .458 on the third go around, but the engine was pretty warm by then so I couldn't beat the 2nd run's time. 48 degrees with no humidity this time, 40lb sub box still on board, and 1/2 tank of 87 because I'm living the cheap life this week.

wow i havn't posted on here in a looong time, but anyway, i just got a bone stock '99 4 door 4.0 explorer last week and decided to take it to the track tonight for ***** and giggles. i was happily surprised with what it ran, a 16.6 in the 1/4 with a 2.4 60ft. the best time i ever got out of my '93 explorer was an 18.3 lol

Never raced in the 1/4 but my best in the 1/8 was a 9.0 at 78 mph on a 100 shot. Best 60ft with AWD was 1.6 which is NASTY for a 4500lb truck. 9.0 x 1.58 = 14.22 would be my appox 1/4.

Right now on 35s with 4:88s I can run high 9s in the 8th
