How to: 1.5" body lift for less than $50

Prefix for threads which are instructional.
Amazon seems to be sold out. Where else can I get one? Mine really needs a lift...

We used hockey pucks from dunhams for a 2 inch bodylift on my friends blazer

Every time I've changed something to do with intake or exhaust there seems to be a learning curve for the computer. It always comes good after a while.

Ok, just to post back on my own question... I believe that Lynch was right and it was just matter of time... well and a little bit of less heavy foot on the pedal...:p:

I drove on a trip around 650 miles (city/highway/mountains) on the 4th of july weekend and after 2 tanks, I got around 16mpg... which is not bad since I was getting 12-13mpg on city before the BL... basically I think that everything is fine now and the Body Lift DOES NOT affect the mpg... well at least with the stock tires...

Btw, what it's the highest tire that I can run with the 1.5BL? 33's or 31's... I'm looking to get a set of tires and I saw a deal for some 33's that it's tempting... :D

Any guidence to other threads or information would be appreciate it...

Biggest I ran when I had the 1.5" BL was 265/75. Had a tiny bit of rubbing at 75% turn but it turned out to be a little tab on the inside front of the front fenderwell...trimmed it off with the dremel and no more rubbing.

Great, thanks for the info Ronin... I'm trying to sell my BFG and with that money will buy bigger tires and hopefully save a little bit of more $ by that time to get the front BTF spacers (1.75") for now... I don't like how the X looks more lifted from the rear...

since people run 32"s (265's) on stock height, you should be okay with 33"s. But 33"s don't fit on stock rims without wheel spacers

A 285/70/17 is roughly a half in taller and an inch narrower than a 33x12.50x17

The deal that I saw was 285/75/16 BFG A/T... would you think that this will fit on my X? Those are almost 33"s (32.8")...

getting a wheel spacer is fine but running them is safe? There are no cons for wheel spacers? I haven't read much about them...

Thanks Kazer..

yeah, what ronin said. you can get cragar soft 8s or procomp 52's for cheap. if not, make sure you get hub centric spacers

how did you use hockey pucks?

you can drill them out in the middle to let a bolt pass through.

The width would have to be 3" though...I don't know how wide a hockey puck is.

I have also heard hockey pucks have a tendency to break down and crack over time when exposed to the elements that the undercarriage would see. that's why most body lift blocks are made of molded nylon.

Your quick on responses james....ill get you one of these times...

1 inch thick by 3 inches wide. they could work if you could manage to split on in half (.5"x3")

lol!

Yeah again my only concern being that those things are made of rubber they could deteriorate over time. Would suck to have to go in and replace them if that happened but then again they could be fine.

to me it seems like it would make more sense to spend just a bit more money and know that they will last for sure.

extra 3" "pucks"

Hey I recently lifted my 07x using a 3"bl from pa883 kit. I have 4 three inch blocks left. If you cut them in the center (there is a center line to guide you) You can have a 1.5" bl. If anyone wants the blocks pm me for a small price. They are just sitting in the back of my x with extra hardware and chizz. I no longer have any use for them. Let me know if you or anyone you know wants em.

Does the body lift cause space between the back bumper and the hitch?

yes. For the 1.5" it isn't very noticeable though.

Here's a pic of my back bumper when I had the 1.5" installed:

i think your fine with the 1.5" but if you go 3" yes youll have a gap but you can "make" brackets to raise the hitch or some people have flipped the 1 1/4 hitch and closed up that gap
