Various smaller explorations and a trip to St Augustine this weekend have racked up a healthy 1100 miles on the XLT V8 Sport Trac. So far all is going swimmingly and I must admit I like the vocals from the V8!!!!
Not very muddy picture would be attached but the system won't allow it???

Chris,

If you want even more impressive vocals there are a few options. Kurtz Kustom Motorsports makes a cone type air filter and MAF housing, Magnaflow makes a cat-back exhaust and Zabteck Performance makes a modified throttle body, all for the 07 V-8. Bamachips also sells an SCT Xcal2 programmer with custom tunes for the 07. So far I have ordered all this stuff for my Limited 4x4 but the only part I have installed is the KKM. I have the exhaust still in the box. Too cold to mess with yet. Other parts should be here shortly. The KKM alone made the intake sound at WOT much throatier. The Zabteck TB is showing 2-3 mpg improvements for those who have installed one. Lots of others have installed the Magnaflow and Xcal2 and report excellent results. You can hear clips for the exhaust here:

Just wondering what the fuel milage you guys are getting, and if those mods seem to help any.Saw you said the T/B helped some,so id like to try that.My SCT tuner made such a major difference,i would tell anyone to do that as thier first mod(didnt help fuel economy, but helped power, alot)

1quick95, I intentionally waited until I had all the mods planned out so that when I ordered the Xcal2 from Bamachips I could tell them what all the mods were. That way they could pre-program the tuner to suit my mods. If you do the tuner first you will probably need to redo the programming as you add other mods.

Edit: I can't give you an accurate report on fuel mileage until after I have installed the Xcal2. I need it to adjust the speedometer for the change in tire diameter among other things. I went from the OEM Michelins at about 30" dia to a set of BFG 265/65/R18s at 31.7" dia. My speedometer and odometer are reading about 10% slow. Kinda skews the results.

rear

do they make a twin rear exit exhaust? More in line with the Dodge RAM etc.

Maybe I'll get one custom made if not?
