Ok so I want to get 15 x 10 rims because I want them to stick out farther than the 15 x 8. I know a lot of people recremmed the 15x8 and not the 15x10. The 15x10 are about $20 more but I am willing to pay. The real question is how much will it rub on the explorer? Those who have had a 15x10 on thier first gen please let me know how it was. BTW I will be getting a 5.5" SuperLift.

Thanks

I have 15x8 with 33x12.5 and they hit the sway bar at full steering lock. I talked to Superlift and they specify 15x8 with 3.75" bs. This set up added 6inches of width at the tires.

I do have 15X10 rims with 33X12.5 mud tires and even with 6" of lift they used to rub a lot... until I cut into the fenders... chopped about 3" off the fender's rear part.

Now it's OK...

need pics? let me know

yeah, that rim is just too wide without hitting the body unless you plan on making some fender/fender apron modifications

Pics would be great! SO if you had a chance to switch to a 15x8 would you, or would you keep the 15x10's?

I don't know... I've used both... at this time I've got 15X10 on my truck and really see no difference so far. I would say that 15X8 is enough for 33" tire with a width of 12.5" but 10" would be better. I'll take some close-up pics when I get home later today.

31x10.50's on stock wheels

I know this has probably been asked and answered a lot, but i've heard different answers, how well will 31's on the stock wheel fit on a 93 with no mods. I have a set of new shackles and springs but I to know.

welcome to Serious Explorations.

31 should fit with no problems on stock rims. If you put them tires on some 15X8 rims than you might get some rubbing up front.

I've got pics of my front fenders... will up-load them into my gallery.

Look there in a moment... :burnout:

Thanks a ton for the pics...Im still having a very hard deciding which ones i should get.Heres my points
15x10 Looks better, wider foot print, overall width will be wider. But I have to trim and will cut my turning radius more.
15x8 No trimming, a little cheaper, sharper turning radius than the 15x10. But a little narrower.

15X8 should be plenty... go for it. I bought 15X10 just because they were for sale with tires on and pretty cheap.

Thanks for your help Dre! Im going to take your advice and go with the 15x8's!

Well if u still want a lil width wheel spacers might please you.

wheel spacers? I would rather go with a wider rim or different offset than with spacers...

my personal opinion though... :thumbdwn:

Well 15x8 will wheel spacers are ok,

hey dre, what does the skyjacker 6 inch lift kit come with to lift the rear? and did you have to make any driveline modifications? i love the way your 94 sport looks. i love the 15x10s too. lol.
