I have a 1996 XLT that I suspect has a faulty alternator. After reading all alternator related posts, I checked cables, connnections, replaced battery and measured voltages. So I am fairly sure the alternator is the problem. My ex has 93,0000 miles on it so this comes as no surprise. But I would like to check the continuity of the 175amp fuse. For the life of me I can't seem to locate it. Can someone gave me an idea of where it's located?.

It is the black thing with a large black cable bolted to it, right up against the power distibution box, under hood beside the brake booster.
It is on the side toward the engine.
