yes, i'm keeping the roof rack.

i carry my mountain bike up there often.

the rails will be painted white though, but the crossbars are still stock they'll just be off when the bike isn't being carried.

as for durability, who knows, but the handle and the roofrack both were fully prepped and will hopefully last forever.

btw- did you guys see how clean those wiper cowls are looking painted in that one picture?

can you get a shot of the wiper area?

ummmmm.... no

the car is about 12 hours away by rollerblade

well I guess you better get started then 'eh? OR - how about next time you go there, you just take it then =)

Howcome this is taking 3 weeks? I forgot to ask about that earlier on.

well, the same reason everythign is taking a long time. Neither him nor I can do this stuff full time. He has a real job and a family, and i am a full time student.

I believe he estimated that he could work 20-25 hours a week maximum (or something close to that)

he is expecting to have it done though within the next week or so and i suppose next sunday evening is a possibility.

either way i have roughly 60 hours more work to do on the interior... so its not like its gonna be all done anytime soon anyways.

Now that you say that, yes. I do see it. Looks real good. Very clean looking. Way to go.

Looking goo dman, but I would raise holy hell if they oversprayed my leaf springs like that. Might as well tell them to paint the entire set.

i know there are a ton of posts typhoon- but you missed the one that said "the suspension will be repainted next"

i dropped off the rust to primer converting paint with the truck etc. so its nothing i'm too worried about.

WoW !!!
Where'd you learn to work with glass like that ?

Shane

you use the spray on bondo stuff for the wiper cowls?

also, he coulda left the bulbs in so the metal connectors dont get stuff on 'em... but then he coulda just taped it up.... oh well

I'm a little behind in my posts, and I just saw what you did with the 520's. They look GREAT!

Truck is coming along really nice. Can't wait to see it finished.

i didn't "learn" how to do this stuff- just decided to do it and couldn't begin to afford to pay someone else (i'm thinking 25k from the local places here- lol)

didn't use spray filler on the wiper cowls. I just did a good job of laying 3-5 layers of fiberglass mat and resin, then finished with regular filler.

glad you like the 520s, i know i love the exterior the way it is now, and those really helped to get the exact look i wanted (and they are awesome at night too)

those are pictures from last night. at this point they've been reworked quite a bit and copied to the other side.

I was just wondering why you didnt take your front bumper off before painting.

well two reasons

the stuff that couldn't be sprayed well because the bumper was on is already the correct color

and because it would have been extra work and we're avoiding work as much as can be done to keep costs and time down.

I think keeping the bumper on is a very good idea. The last thing you want to do is scratch it while putting it back on after you paint it. or scatch the body

Are the flames set in stone right now or do you still have time to rework them?
