1987 Ford Aerostar. Automatic transmission failure.

aoutomatic transmission failure i shifted from drive to overdrive and transmission quit working completely, it has never had any problems whatsoever , fluid is fine anyone have any ideas please respond

Welcome to this forum! It's possible that the filter or O rings on the filter might be damaged or the pump could have failed. Connect a 0 - 300 PSI test gauge onto the pressure port to check the pressure in each gear range.

Two possibilities come to mind, both requiring removal of the transmission.

Stripped splines in OD planet. Twisted off OD shaft on OD ring gear.
