- 1989 Ford Ranger
Hello, I own a 1989 Ford Ranger XLT extended cab. It has the 2.9L with the auto trans. It has been an awesome truck that if I could buy it new again I would. It's pushing 250,000 miles and is still feeling pretty good other than she's getting a little tired.
I potentially have a chance to buy a 1991 Explorer with approx. 150,000 miles with a 4L 6 cylinder, auto trans for a reasonable price.
I am curious as to how much can carry over from the Explorer to my Ranger. i.e. motormounts the same? trans the same? etc. etc.
If there are alot of parts that can be interchanged like the motor and trans, I'd buy it, spend the $$ and rebuild the motor and trans before the swap. Thanks for any info you can pass along.
