New owner of a 1990 ranger xlt and thanks to the great state of California, I've gotta smog it. That means taking off my pacesetters and going stock. <--- P.I.T.A. Project let me tell ya. I have looked at the vacuum diagrams and can see no routing for the egr. I've even looked at my Chilton just for some pictures and or some phraseage. . No dice. I know some did and some didn't have an egr and mine does have the plate but this truck is originally a California truck and passed emissions after production.

Well, nevermind. I took it to the smog shop and he asked a repair shop that told him no it wasn't since it didn't have it of the vacuum diagrams on the books or my truck emissions check sticker.

..You are correct..:biggthump

..The 91 Ford Explorer also does not have an EGR..;)

Internal egr yeah? Snifty idea. Wish it would've come sooner.

Yep.. and a year model later they were not using an egr..

So in the future if you want to swap in a 91 4.0 with no egr your good to go..

Are ready for this broski?

In California, you would legally be able to add headers (borla) to that 4.0 swap in your ranger and it would be smog legal...

The rest I'll leave up to you...;)
