I'm doing a engine and manual trans swap to my 1991 Mazda Navajo Truggy. I bought a 1994 explorer doner vehicle with a good 4.0 and manual trans. My question is in the computer. Will the manual trans computer work in the 1991 auto mazda Navajo?
I know the 1994 engine I'm using has a cam position sensor. I'm not planning on hooking that up because it will involve swapping out wire harnesses. I'm thinking since the manual trans computer will not be recieving the signal from the cam position sensor it might throw a Check Engine light or not work at all. I am trying to keep this smog legal.
My other option is get a ECU out of a 1991 Ranger with manual trans and 4.0 that a friend of mine has. Its just going to cost me some $$
