Truck stalls on deceleration and idles erratically. Have changed plugs, air filter, fuel filter, crank sensor, cleaned MAF, IAC, throttle body. Computer codes are 14 and 66. Took to reputable mechanic and they tested computer and said was transmission problem. Took to transmission mechanic and he said transmission tested fine. First mechanic checked again and this time transmission was not part of codes. He said to take to Dealer for checkup. Called local ford dealer and they said that they don't check vehicles before 1995. Checked for vacuum leaks and found none. Checked wiring harnesses and they seem to be fine. Of special note: this problem started after there was an oil leak threw the oil pressure sensor. Any suggestions?

The codes you listed are missing something--a prefix digit

Try this then report back

edit upon looking thru that I was wrong

14 is ignition --66 has to do with the MAF

Try cleaning the crank sensor and it's connector, and also try cleaning the maf sensor.

i have had this problem before and it was my idle/air sensor

I replaced the IAC and this made a difference in the idle, so the idle no longer is an issue. However, it still stalls. But it only stalls when it comes to a quick stop. If I slowly come to a stop it will not stall. I also replaced the PCV valve but this made no difference.

If you clear the CM 14 and test drive it, does the CM 14 come back (especially after the next stall event)? CM 14 points to a problem in the PIP signal. I'm less familiar with the PIP signal on these distributerless systems, but I believe the PIP signal is generated by the ICM in response to the CKP signal. I would probably start by looking at the CKP, the wiring between the CKP and the ICM, the ICM, and the wiring between the ICM and the PCM. Where it seems related to hard deceleration, I'd probably start by checking for loose connectors or broken wires.

What is the possibility of it being in the fuel pump? One day about two months ago the fuel pump relay stuck and ran the pump until the battery went dead. Also, the fuel gauge only read a quarter of a tank even when it was full. However, now it only reads empty all the time. When I replaced the fuel filter it was full of a gray sludge.

Did you check to see if your plugs had stuff built up on them?
