1992 -> 1991 Computer Swap - Merits?

Is there any gain to be expected from swapping a '91 computer into a '92 Explorer? I've read that since Ford was messing around with different computer programs and tables and such, different computers will produce different results on the same truck. Truth to this or is it just B/S?

Looking to squeeze every last ounce of power out of this thing...

I don't think 91/92 swap (either direction) would be worth anything..

Switching to a 93/94 would get you SPFI instead of MPFI.. That just means each injector fires when its needed instead of all at once every time.

I'm not 100% about this, but thats what I've read multiple times but since I don't have a 1993/1994 I can verify this.

'course going to a 93/94 means changing more than just the computer and harness, you would end up adding egr and more o2 sensors..
