I am new to the explorer world but picked one up pretty cheap so I figured I would build it. I picked the truck up for 500 bucks and have to put a fuel pump on it. Now working on 3 inch body lift and putting 33s for now till i go solid front axle. There will be more to come. If anyone has any good suggestions they are much appreciated.

Welcome to The Forum , Pretty decent looking 4dr from what I can see , I do believe 33"s will be a tight fit with only 3" body , You may can get away with some trimming , Here is a Recent pic of my 91 Navajo I use it as a DD , List of mods in my signature .

3 inch body lift should be plenty. I have 2 inch spacers and homemade shackles and I can flex 33's just fine with a little fender trimming.

This one won't be a street ride anyway but I got other plans for it anyhow. Thinking of doing a solid axle swap.

Nice rig by the way

Thanks , and this one was built for trails and play and didn't have tag or insurance on it for about 4-5 years and was an off road toy that whole time period , I wrecked my Z71 I used as my DD and had to bring this back to being able to use as a DD and it still needs work lol .

Nice! I am trying to find a set of aftermarket wheels to throw on this but I am looking for as cheap as I can. This is it stock with the 33s on it

Nice ,looks mean with the 33"s on it haha , the black wheels in my older photos are Cragar D window steelies , around 50ish brand new each and they look good cleaned up with the red and blue ring around them .

Right!! lol something like that is what I need same style I had on my samurai

I have wheels similar to that on my 84 Bronco 2. They were originally white but we painted them black.

Nice explorer by the way.

It's coming along nicely! I've been helping along the way and it's going to be mean when it's done...

That is looking pretty good man. Bring it down to Glen Allen so we can figure out other projects.
