1992 Explorer Engine Swap

I have a 1992 Explorer XLT. The engine is getting tired. I want to swap it out for a 2003 Ranger engine and tranny. I particularly need advice on wiring and engine/tranny mounting. Is the tranny going to need some retrofitting for the gear shifter? Or have they kept things pretty standardized?

Advice is needed as to what I need to do to make my Explorer run like new.

I do know u can drop a 302 block right in mounts are in right place. only thing you'll need is puter, wires,

now for my questions. what engine is in the ranger that you are going to use? is it 4x4 or 2wd. if it's 2wd you may run into transmission output shaft not fitting into your x fer case. you will have to make a ton of custom wire connections many splices...
