1992 Mazda Navajo yet again being reborn

Thats right my 1992 Mazda Navajo is being reworked for another time. The First step I chose to take was a refreshed Body with a custom Paint job. Also on the plans are to install new Front axle that I have Built with Cut and Turned Beams and f-150 knuckles. Rebuild the rear axle with larger bolt pattern to match Front useing Dutchman Axle shafts. I hope yall guys forgive me but I have no plans to use it off-road after it is complete. This is my Daily Driver and It more or less going to be for show. Even though its more show its going to have every thing it needs to make it go. Its going to be set up for off-road and can be used any day off road I just have chose to drive it on the Road.

hey kris looks like an awsome project. where is Victoria TX at exactly? im up near dallas myself.

Victoria is Gulf coast area south of houston.

looks good man cant wait to see the final!

Ok I plan to take pictures tomorrow the front axle came out today.. Took me an hour to pull every thing out and have it ready to go for the New front axle. Now throwing the new axle in will hopefully go very smooth. I have 98% off all my parts ready so tomorrow will prove an Exciting day.

dammit those beams look sexy with the D44 outers :)
Something looks very very familiar :) hahaha

Kris I did use longer bolts on the diff to make it through the front plate where the cut and turn is, I found the factory bolts (2ea) were not threading very far

Do you still have a C clip on the pass side inner shaft?

The Bolts Threaded in fine for me. Yes this axle is still c-clipped on the passenger side. I would be finishing it up today but I have to go to houston with my mother. so I am guessing by thursday I should have it back on rollers.

geez it had been 2 months... didn't know if the hurricane got you or something...

I am curious about your lift, what axle pivot brackets are you using and how much lift coil?

James Duff brackets, 5.5 Superlift coils. 1'" spacer

The hurricane missed me but the scare of it sure put me in to work lots of over time. I work at Lowes... so we sold more plywood and generators then you could care to know about.. Plus boarding up my own house ect. ect.

Sweet, our TTB's ar so similar, aside from the knuckles...
What kind of steering will you be running?

I have a super lift super runner steering in my garage that I plan on installing on the Truck. I just have to get out there and do the work things arent going as planned with my time I had a death in the family yesterday so things are going super slow.

I understand that. I love ym Superrunner, considering it was $70 from HVAC man (Thanks Clint) and makes the stock inverted Y setup look like a joke, bump steer no more.

what do you plan on doing with your d 35?

Depends. the Gears are already spoken for but I do have another 35 sitting in my back yard. for some reason I end up with all the used discarded dana 35s around.

hahahaha you think you do? I got beams all over the place...

im thinkin bout doin the same on my navajo

I have lots of driver side beams with out passenger ones. The one I pulled out of the navajo is Cracked too. Those passenger beams just seam to crack on me for some reason.. Only thing you can do with a beam like that is cut and turn it. LOL
