After replacing about 4 mass air flow sensors, tune-ups etc... over the past year and a half I finally found a repair shop that found out that the real problem was the ECM....The ECM had over-heated and was causing the mass air flow sensor to burn out etc....among other things...I could still drive it if I unplugged the sensor...plus it was a spare car and I was in no hurry to have it fixed.
Runs like new now...If only i had known ....I could have save hundreds of dollars....Hope this helps someone
