It is a 2wd 4 cyl and I want to change the rear diff fluid. I have seen many posts regarding different types of fluid. I am not sure if I have limited slip or not, I do not think I do. The axle code is 3 45 75 5b07 (I think since its hard to read now).
Suggestions on what fluid I need to use? Do I need a friction modifier? How much goes in the differential?

Thanks guys

...What does your axle code say on your door sticker?

...IIRC, the numbers you just posted are from the rear end tag showing you have 3.45 gears in a 7.5 rear axle...

I wish I knew! I got hit and put a new door on and had it painted so I cannot see the sticker anymore.

...If your tag had a 3L45 it would be a Limited Slip...I believe yours is (3 45) an open carrier but your door tag would confirm that...:(

assuming it is not a limited slip, what oil do I need? How much?

...I would just grab a gallon of SAE 80W or 90W gear oil...

...Your local auto parts store will have these in stock..;)
