My dad has a '96 4.0 4x4 that he wants to do some upgrades on. Since i dont have a V-6 i have never really researched this.
He is going to put my chrome cobra r's on and I am going to lower it for him. We already put the EE sway bars on.

Now I need some help with engine mods and places to get them. My dad wants a set of headers and a custom dual exhaust. what else??? I was thinking cold air intake and a k&n.... were to go from there??

also- do any of you know.... will the billet grilles for a xlt fit the limited??

what do some of you 4.0 guys have done?

thanks

KKM intake, a custom cat back exhause ( I would forgo the headers ), a good chip should get ya started.

Good luck.....

Get a BBK TB, maybe a Chip, maybe a KKM, and a borla or flowmaster exhaust, then it should really be pimpin!

Pur Pony, please read my "my thoughts" thread at the top of the Need for Speed forum. I explain what the first few mods should be and also why not to get headers for the 4.0. After the intake and exhaust mods I outline, add a chip and he'll be pretty well off. If you want to do some "hardcore" performance mods, maybe a different cam and some headwork. But intake, exhaust, chip, and BBK TB is a great start and other mods will only build on those. If you are thinking about swapping the cam, do that before you get a custom chip burned.

Good luck!
