1996 5.0 MAF Locaton

Where is the MAF located on a 96 5.0 liter engine? I have cleaned my 93 4.0 MAF, and it has torx (security) screws. But I have not yet located the MAF on my 5.0. There is a component which could be the MAF but it does not have security screws...just hex screws holding lit on. Cleaning procedure the same? Appreciate your comments. Thanks Mike

maf location

i believe what you are looking for is within the black tube that holds the air cleaner. you should see a wire connecting to the back side of the tube at the end toward the throttle body. take the box off just as you were going to replace the air filter and then undo the clamp holding the rest of the box to the intake tube. use a screw driver to pry out the cover and then the maf comes right out.
