1996 Explorer blend door

I replaced my blend door actuator on my 96 explorer now it keeps shorting out blowing 7.5 fuses my digital message center and is turning my temp control to metric does anyone know why?

Did you possibly pinch a wire while reassembling it?

i surely did not, i was very careful not to damage any wires and looked at them closely with a lighted magnified glass. i am at a loss thanks for your reply

Possible take out you message center, and temp display, and see if anything would possible be touching contacts on the board it's self. Because a short, and the metric change could be caused because of 2 contacts being connected. It may not even have anything to do with the blender door motor.

Did you replace it with the right one? Identical new one?
